nerό [water]

Neró was first presented in August 2024 in Institute of Contemporary Art in Singapore as a multichannel audio installation that immerses listeners into a sound narrative, tracing the journey of water from purity to plastic contamination. The artist weaves together diverse recordings and electronically generated sounds, capturing the essence of water from its smallest droplets to its expansive manifestations in nature and artificial environments.

In this work, water transforms from a natural, life-sustaining resource to something mechanical, and back to its original, fluid state. This journey reflects the artist’s perception of human interference with water that often results in polluting it, disrupting its purity, and ultimately, altering its essence.
